It is important to have the right attitude toward solutions, and teamwork which will provide a culture of empowerment and healthier interaction. Nurse Practitioners will be supported by a care team including care coordinators and medical assistants who also perform scribe duties. An above industry standard of medical assistants to physician/nurse practitioner ratio as well as office visit times will allow Nurse Practitioners to operate at the top of their license and allow for the Nurse Practitioners to spend the appropriate amount of time based on each patient’s needs. The Nurse Practitioner will assess diagnoses and treat patients. Obtains patient's health history, performs physical examinations, prescribes laboratory testing and medications, provide patient and family education, and provide technical expertise to other nurses. Incumbents in this class work independently under the general direction of a physician pursuant to state statute.
Education: Graduation from an accredited school of Advanced Practice Nursing and a minimum of one (1) year recent (within the past five (5) years) APN experience.

Other Requirements: Some positions may require one or more of the following certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA).
