    Performs comprehensive assessments and develops treatment plans that integrate medical, social and resource issues that impact individual patients and families. Provides crisis intervention, patient /family intervention, high risk screening, brief counseling, referrals for financial or other identified resource needs, and facilitates family/patient representative meetings with the health care team as needed.       or other identified resource needs, and facilitates family/patient representative meetings with the health care team as needed.     

    • Obtain information about patient's social, psychological, environmental and physical needs in a compassionate and professional manner
    • Develop a biopsychosocial assessment, establishing a diagnosis and formulate a collaborative treatment plan with patients; training and experience necessary to accurately identify and categorize a client's symptoms
    • Establish achievable treatment goals with patients and help them implement cognitive, effective, and behavioral changes based on treatment goals; strong intervention skills and ability to help patients in an effective, professional and expedient manner
    • Perform under high-stress circumstances with calmness and composure
    • Use of general office equipment including, but not limited to: facsimiles, copiers, telephones and computers
    • Communicating with a wide variety of people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds
    • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties
    • Efficient, effective and safe use of equipment.
    • Other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibilities and requirements of the job




    • Clinical social worker's scope of work and code of ethics
    • Patient intake procedures, assessments, counseling, advocacy, and discharge planning
    • Specialized knowledge for effective clinical interventions; community services and appropriate referral options
    • Patient confidentiality
    • Patient care plan development
    • Current standards of medical and health care, limitations of the scope of practice, diagnostic tools, pharmacology, federal, state, local and accreditation laws, regulations and standards
    • Department safety practices and procedures
    • Patient rights
    • Department emergency response policies and procedures.
    • Minimum level computer skills in a Microsoft Office environment:
    • Bi-/or Multi-lingual skills (written and verbal): Required (Spanish preferred)


    • Manage competing deadlines and multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
    • Mobility to work in a typical clinical setting and use standard equipment;
    • Stamina to remain standing and/or walk for extended periods of time;
    • Vision to read instruments, printed materials and various electronic screens and monitors;
    • Hearing and speech to communicate effectively in person and over the telephone;
    • Strength and agility to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

    Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work from a university accredited by the Council on Social Work Education

    License: Clinical licensure from the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers

    Certification Required: N/A

    Minimum Years’ Experience: Two (2) years as a clinical social worker

    Other Requirements: N/A
