    The purpose of this position is to be the point of contact for unions, employers and field staff leading up to and during enrollment periods. The Enrollment Specialist is responsible for managing the tasks associated with onboarding of new contracts, changing contracts, and enrollments.  This position leads cross-functional teams across multiple departments to ensure that onboarding tasks are completed timely and to create a positive member and bargaining party experience.  The Enrollment Specialist provides subject matter expertise for onboarding of new and existing Collective Bargaining Agreements and enrollment guidelines and processes.

    • Oversees tasks associated with onboarding new employers and plan open enrollments in order to provide quality assurance and to ensure that tasks are completed timely
      • Facilitates and leads strategy meetings for onboarding of new employers, contract changes, plan changes, and open enrollment, etc.
      • Oversees the creation and maintenance of enrollment materials and systems used for enrollment and onboarding
      • Ensures that online enrollment set-up is accurate
      • Provides direction for set-up of online enrollment
      • Troubleshoots and escalates issues/concerns
      • Debriefs leadership on each enrollment project
    • Provides subject matter expertise in regards to enrollment
      • Provides knowledge transfer and support for existing and new Plan Unit benefit changes
      • Creates and maintains documents of enrollment processes and terminology
    • Acts as point of contact for unions, employers and field staff (e.g. Regional Directors, Health Promoters, Health Resource Team (HRT), etc.)
      • Assures that the Enrollment Tracker is updated
      • Provides enrollment status and other requested reports to stakeholders
      • Provides benefit disruption reports to external stakeholders (e.g. Unions, employers, etc.)
      • Oversees fulfillment of enrollment toolkit materials to all required stakeholders
      • Provides assistance in answering questions that external parties may have leading up to and during enrollment
    • Schedules and conducts educational webinars regarding enrollment and onboarding
      • Creates and maintains presentations regarding enrollment and onboarding
      • Trains internal staff and external stakeholders to use the Online Enrollment Portal
    • Provides support during enrollment events conducted by unions, employers, and field staff
    • Attends enrollment events to educate and inform new and/or potential members
    • Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibilities and requirements of the job

    • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration or related field or equivalent work experience required
    • Minimum of 2 ~ 4 years of direct experience required
    • Working knowledge and experience in enrolling, onboarding and collaborating with members in a health insurance environment
    • Experience working with low-income immigrant communities and/or with unions strongly preferred
    • Basic database experience a plus

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Intermediate level Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
    • Intermediate level Microsoft Excel skills.
    • Preferred fluency (speak and write) in Spanish.
    • Communication skills (written and verbal)
    • Attention to detail, organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills
    • Interpersonal, multi-tasking and time management skills
    • Ability to interact successfully with all levels of staff
