    The purpose of this position is to assist Manager and other departments with their data information needs by analyzing medical and pharmacy claims, eligibility data, external data using SAS and/or SQL programming. This includes understanding business need, defining deliverables, and performing necessary data manipulation and aggregation to efficiently produce and concisely communicate deliverables.  This individual will be a primary user of the Fund’s data warehouse as well as various internal information systems.


    Senior analyst will also mentor other analysts in defining methodologies and coding to improve efficiency and accuracy.

    • Collects, compiles and analyzes data to measure and report on provider and program performance.
    • Responds to requests for data by determining users’ needs, collecting, organizing, and analyzing data, and providing accurate and complete reports.
    • Understand claims data and reporting systems. Assist in enhancing and streamlining reporting processes.
    • Working with other analysts to perform financial analysis of hospital, physician and ancillary rates.
    • Working with other analysts to perform a variety of ad-hoc analysis and reports as requested.
    • Produces standard periodic reports to meet users’ needs.
    • Identifies, develops and implements methods for improving reporting efficiency.
    • Performs checks and audits of various data sources to ensure data is accurate and complete.
    • Maintains and applies knowledge of current trends, practices and developments in health care.
    • Mentor and train other analysts
    • Other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibilities and requirements of the job.


    • Bachelor’s in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Informatics, Computer Science, or related field. Master’s degree preferred 

    • Advanced training in SAS and SQL
    • At least 5 years’ experience in Healthcare analytics and claims data analysis
    • At least 5 years’ experience in SAS programming (SAS-Base, SAS-Stats, SAS-SQL)
    • Deep knowledge and experience in manage claims data including medical claims, Rx claims and membership data files
    • Deep knowledge in reporting applications, data warehouse concepts, etc
    • Minimum level computer skills in a Microsoft Office environment: Intermediate
    • Strong Oral & Written communication skills

    • Analytical, deductive reasoning, problem solving, and decision making skills
    • Bi- or Multi- lingual skills (written and verbal): A PlusWorking knowledge of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
