    • Supervises work of Paralegal Minimum Standards Specialists and Legal Assistants, including assigning new work, allocating, and reviewing work
    • Communicates with the Sr. In House Counsel and Collections Counsel on unique requests that require attorneys’ approval or recommendation
    • Prepares and conducts Performance Evaluations of Team Members
    • Oversees the process of contract review for Minimum Standards Compliance, and review and acceptance of the Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA’s)
    • Handles requests from bargaining parties while also ensuring compliance with the Fund’s Minimum Standards, Plans’ provisions and Fund’s overall rules
    • Drafts and reviews unique provisions as requested by bargaining parties
    • Oversees preparation and finalization of Contract Extracts sent to the bargaining parties and to their attorneys as confirmation of the Fund’s understanding of their provisions and how they will be applied
    • Oversees preparation of Participation Agreements for Union Locals who want to participate in the Fund for their employees or for Employers who want to provide benefits to their non-union employees
    • Oversees preparation of Contract Addenda and variances for CBAs that do not comply with the Minimum Standards or other Fund rules
    • Oversees the process of Pre-negotiation Review of contracts and preparation of Pre-negotiation Letters
    • Collaborates with Union Locals to assist them in bringing new Employers into different Fund Plans, prepares or reviews new Employers’ Agreements and work with the Fund’s departments to achieve a smooth transition into the Plans
    • Serves as Liaison between collective bargaining parties and Fund Departments to assist individuals better understand the requirements and issues involving the CBA terms
    • Conducts conference calls with the bargaining parties and/or their attorneys to respond to questions, explain Fund rules and speed up the process of receiving and accepting agreements
    • Helps Union Locals, their attorneys, Employers and their attorneys understand the Minimum Standards requirements and Fund structure and rules
    • Prepares and reviews reports as required by Fund attorneys related to different issues
    • Conducts frequent meetings with Minimum Standards Team members to answer questions and make decisions on how to move forward in a large variety of situations
    • Trains new Paralegals and is involved in the training of any new Legal Assistant
    • Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibilities and requirements of the job

    Years of Experience and Knowledge

    • 5 ~ 7 years of related experience minimum in a law firm or legal department preferred
    • 2 ~ 3 years of supervisor experience required
    • Working knowledge and experience in resolving contract disputes through arbitration and/or mediation
    • Working knowledge and experience in labor relations contract review, drafting and interpretation

     Education, Licenses, and Certifications

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred
    • Paralegal certificate preferred
