    The purpose of this position is the internal business owner of Payroll Processing, garnishments, child support, payroll taxes, expense reimbursement processing and vendor payments. Oversees the Payroll Function to ensure data integrity and accurate & efficient payroll processing and tax payments. Manages Accounts Payable functions and oversees the utilization of Accounts Payable automation software and automated expense reimbursement application.



    • Manages and coordinates activities of staff engaged in payroll process, expense reimbursement process and vendor payments
    • Responsible for compliance with all federal and state agencies, where required, with regard to payroll processing tax withholding, reporting and payments
    • Monitor checks and balances for complete Payroll process
    • Ensures expense reimbursement complies with Expense Report Guidelines
    • Oversee employee training in Timekeeping software and expense reimbursement software on either a one-on-one basis or group presentation and the Fund’s online training resource center
    • Provides timekeeping and expense reimbursement support for West Coast offices
    • Approves new vendor setup in Accounting Software
    • Manages user maintenance in various systems
    • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
    • Audits methods and procedures to improve efficiency
    • Reconcile and provide payroll information for various annual tax filings
    • Preparation and review of staff pension plan activity including general ledger, investment transactions, and workpaper support
    • Oversee 1099 and Schedule C reporting
    • Reinforce appropriate internal controls to safeguard assets
    • Plans, analyzes, and evaluates programs and services, operational needs, and fiscal constraints
    • Supervises, leads, and delegates work and coaches, mentors, develops employees
    • Analyzes problems, identifies and develops alternative solutions, projects consequences of proposed actions, and implements recommendation/solutions
    • Recommends hires and promotions, directs and evaluates employment decisions for all assigned positions
    • Assists with developing and coordinating policies and procedures
    • Responsible for the oversight of continued employee training requirements, safety and quality initiatives
    • Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibilities and requirements of the job

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 
    • 5 ~ 7 years of related experience in an accounting payroll environment with supervisory experience
    • Considerable knowledge/experience in the majority of the following areas: function and people management, payroll, accounts payable, preparation of G/L and financial statements, and design of management reports
    • Experience with Accounting software, e.g., Intacct preferred
    • Experience with Travel and AP automation software, e.g., Concur a plus
    • Experience with Payroll systems e.g., ADP and Kronos a plus

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Professional presentation, interpersonal and communication skills (Excellent written/verbal)
    • Minimum level computer skills in a Microsoft Office and accounting software environment: Intermediate-Advanced
